چکیده

The equilibrium and thermodynamics of azo dye (tartrazine and allura red) biosorption onto Spirulina platensis biomass were investigated. The equilibrium curves were obtained at 298, 308, 318 and 328 K, and four isotherm models were fitted the experimental data. Biosorption thermodynamic parameters (ΔG, ΔH and ΔS) were estimated. The results showed that the biosorption was favored by a temperature decrease. For both dyes, the Sips model was the best to represent the equilibrium experimental data (R>0.99 and ARE<5.0%) and the maximum biosorption capacities were 363.2 and 468.7 mg g for tartrazine and allura red, respectively, obtained at 298 K. The negative values of ΔG and ΔH showed that the biosorption of both dyes was spontaneous, favorable and exothermic. The positive values of ΔS suggested that the system disorder increases during the biosorption process.

Equilibrium, thermodynamic and kinetic studies for the biosorption of aqueous lead(II), cadmium(II) and nickel(II) ions on Spirulina platensis.

The biosorption of lead(II), cadmium(II) and nickel(II) ions from aqueous solution by Spirulina platensis was studied as a function of time, concentration, temperature, repetitive reactivity, and ionic competition. The kinetic results obeyed well the pseudo second-order model. Freundlich, Dubinin Radushkevich and Temkin isotherm models were applied in describing the equilibrium partition of the...

Kinetic and equilibrium studies on the biosorption of reactive black 5 dye by Aspergillus foetidus.

An isolated fungus, Aspergillus foetidus had the ability to decolourize growth unsupportive medium containing 100 mg L(-1) of reactive black 5 (RB5) dye with >99% efficiency at acidic pH (2-3). Pre-treatment of fungal biomass by autoclaving or exposure to 0.1M sodium hydroxide facilitated more efficient uptake of dye as compared to untreated fungal biomass. Pre-equilibrium biosorption of RB5 dy...

Binding of heavy metals with C-Phycocyanin: A comparison between equilibrium dialysis, fluorescence and absorption titration

The energetic of interaction of metal ions with C-Phycocyanin (C-PC) Spirulina platensis were investigated using optical and thermodynamic methods. Comparison of the binding constants of heavy metals with C-PC by the instrumentality of difference methods shown, that binding affinities of toxic and heavy metal ions for C-PC strongly depend upon the metal. The efficiency of interaction for differ...

Performance, kinetics and equilibrium in biosorption of anionic dye Acid Red 14 by the waste biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a low-cost biosorbent

Equilibrium, kinetics and thermodynamic studies on the removal of Acid Red 14 (AR14) anionic dye by biosorption onto dried waste biomass of Saccharomyces cerevisiae have been investigated. In batch experiments, the parameters studied included the effect of the dye concentration, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dosage, agitation speed, pH, and salt concentration. The pseudo-first-order and ...
